Age is No Bar for Becoming an Entrepreneur | Just Start to Think and Execute Your Dreams

 Pic12

We often think of wealthy, successful people as being older. We see a lot of famous people, be they CEOs or celebrities, and most of them seem to be in their thirties or forties. People younger than that often get shuffled into the “amateur” category, and people older than that are often seen as washed up. Many people seem to think that people in these age groups cannot become successful businessmen/women, much less start their own businesses. These are all misconceptions. No matter how old you are, your age is no bar for becoming an entrepreneur. Just start to think and execute your dreams.

If you’re young – say, in your teens or your twenties – then you might feel like you aren’t ready to start a business. But, what websites are you using every day? If you were to list them out, chances are that Facebook would be mentioned. And Facebook was started by Mark Zuckerberg when he was a college student who had nothing more than a bold idea and a drive for success. He was about as young as can be and he became an entrepreneur. Now Facebook is one of the largest companies around and he has more money than a person could ever need.

Never let anyone tell you that you’re just a kid, or that you’re too young to get ahead in the business world. If they do then they’re ignorant. If you have a business idea then you should go for it. Get up every day and do something – even if it’s just one thing – to help you get closer to making your dreams a reality. If you think you’re too inexperienced then hit the books and do some research. Become experienced through self-education.

But what about older people? A person in their sixties is often seen as too old to start a business, but that too is ridiculous. Sure, older folks might not be able to do as much physical work as they used to, but that doesn’t mean their minds are just as sharp as anyone else’s. If you’re getting up there in age and you’ve begun to think that you’re too old to start a business, then you need to change your mind right now.

Just because you can’t go around doing heavy lifting doesn’t mean you can’t come up with good ideas. In fact, life experience can often help to see good options that the young can’t see yet. If your idea is good enough then you can partner with someone younger to do anything physically intensive. You don’t need to worry about your bones being too brittle or your mindset being too old fashioned. Take the ideas you have – the ones that have always been important to you – and go for them. You’re not going to get younger and today is always a better time to start than tomorrow. If you’re around people who tell you otherwise then find new people to spend your time with and go after your dreams like your life depends on it.
